We will always be kids for our parents
Now I am waking up at around 8:30. Take a quick shower. Get dressed for work [shirt and jacket].
My mom prepared some breakfast: “Have something to eat,” she said.
I sat down at the kitchen table and took a few sips from the cup of tea [I never have breakfast].
“I am off to work, mom,” I said and took my car keys.
When my mom saw me taking my sports bag with me, she asked “Bugun fizkulturang bormi?”
I said “Yes, we are playing football with colleagues after work today”.
She used the word “Fizkultura” which is from school times. It is a sports subject that is part of every Uzbek school program.
What I am trying to say here is that mom sees me off to work every morning as if she is still seeing me off to school. As if I am still a teenager [there is something so sweet and funny about it].
